Red Deer Public Galleries
After a year-long renovation project, the transformed Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery has reopened with spacious galleries, inspiring history and art exhibitions, innovative programs and engaging social events for families and adults. The renovated galleries have a contemporary, open look, providing new opportunities for exhibitions and programs. Mon to Sat 9 am - 5 pm, Sun noon - 5 pm, First Fri till 9 pm.
The PortHole Gallery is used to display small 3D pieces while The Four Corners Gallery displays 2D works on paper. The main floor of the library is used for larger group shows and the AFA travelling shows. Mon to Thurs 7:45 am - 10 pm, Fri 7:45 am to 6 pm, Sat 9 am - 6 pm, Sun noon - 10 pm (Regular library hours -- check reduced hours May - August).
The Viewpoint Gallery provides an opportunity for local professional artists to display their artwork for sale. Artists' work is promoted through exhibitions, the website as well as printed materials and advertising. Mon to Fri 8 am - noon, 1 pm - 4:30 pm.
The Bilton Centre for Contemporary Art features monthly exhibitions by local, national, and international fine artists. The centre seeks to include a wide range of artistic practices, and supports growth and experimantation of artists and viewers alike. Gallery hours Tues - Sat, 11am- 6pm.
