    Great West Adventure Park
    Great West is a BMX track located north of Bower Ponds off Taylor Drive. Park is open to the public on Wednesday evenings and races take place on Thursday and Sunday evenings.

    This park is open during the summer months. It features a shale fastball and baseball diamond, change rooms, and concessions. It is adjacent to a picnic area and a nine-hole golf course.

    Heritage Ranch
    The ranch offers horse rides, a playground, picnic area, fishing ponds, a souvenir shop and visitor info centre. May 16 to June 30, wkdys 9 am - 6 pm, wknds 10 am - 6 pm. July 1 to Sept, Mon to Thur, 9 am - 6 pm, Fri to Sun 9 am - 7 pm.

    Waskasoo Park
    Stretches through Red Deer from Heritage Ranch to River Bend Recreation Area in the northeast. The park has 50 km (30 mi) of river valley bike paths, picnic sites, an 18-hole golf course and Kerry Wood Nature Centre. The centre features a gallery, theatre and discovery room for children. Open daily from mid-May until early September.

    Gaetz Lake Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary and wildlife reserve and a part of Waskasoo Park. Walking trails are available including viewing platforms.

    Open year-round, Red Deer's Kerry Wood Nature Centre offers first rate exhibits and programs interpreting the natural history of central Alberta. The nature centre is at the entrance to the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary, Alberta's first federal migratory bird sanctuary.
